Ingredient FAQ

Do you use any preservatives in your pouches?

We do not! Our pouches are shelf-stable because they are put through a heat and pressure process similar to home canning. We also use a dash of Lemon juice to which act as a natural preservative. When feeding your little one our purees you can feel confident that they are fully safe and free from preservatives.

Why aren’t your products certified organic?

Our majority of the ingredients conform to Organic standards in terms of pesticides and heavy metals. We source from farmers that practice traditional/organic farming methods but can not get organic certification because of high costs. For these reasons, we chose to forgo the organic certification in order to support farmers. But rest assured, we test for all major harmful contaminants, pesticides and heavy metals from NABL certified labs periodically to make sure each pouch we make is 100% free from them.

Why is there such high fat and protein content? Is this healthy for babies?

The ratios of fat, protein, and carbohydrates in our baby food pouches represent an ideal balance of the macronutrients that your little one needs to thrive – and that includes necessary protein and fat! Babies 7 to 12 months old need at least 30 grams of fat and 11 grams of protein a day. All our pouches are incredibly nutritious (and not to mention, delicious) for your little one! Does your process degrade the nutrient quality of the vegetables?

Any time food is cooked, some vitamin content is lost, especially when it comes to antioxidants. However, our method retains more vitamins than all other processes. To make our baby foods, we combine the ingredients in small batches and bring them up to a non-boiling temperature. Then we blend into a smooth puree, fill the pouches, and put them in a large pressure cooker where they are held under heat and pressure for a short period of time. This process kills any bacteria and makes the product shelf stable without the need for preservatives or refrigeration, similar to home canning. Most other shelf stable baby foods are boiled for a long period of time prior to going into the pouch, and a significant amount of nutrients are lost as they are “boiled off”. Our retort process maintains maximum nutrition because everything stays in the pouch.

Is there a chance of cross contamination of allergens?

The safety of our babies is the absolute number one priority. We want you and your little one to enjoy our products, without question. Our pouches are manufactured in facilities and on lines that also process milk, peanuts, soy and wheat. While we do not test specifically for traces of these in between production runs, the machinery is washed thoroughly and prevent cross contamination. But there could be a slight possibility of these allergens present in the purees hence we recommend to test for any allergic reaction to your baby before continuing the consumption.

Have your baby foods been tested for heavy metals and pesticides?

Yes, all out pouch variants (SKUs) have been tested for more than 210+ harmful contaminants, heavy metals and pesticides. We are proud to say that all our products are free from these.

Can the pouches be left in a hot car?

We recommend storing our pouches at room temperature. Similar to any other presh food, leaving them in a hot car will degrade the quality as all our products are made from 100% natural ingredient
